Tower Bridge Diesels Limited was founded in October 1959 by my Father, Ronald Frederick Pentecost and his brother, Len Pentecost, specialising in both diesel and petrol fuel injection systems and automotive electrical repairs.
In these early years, equipment was repaired and serviced from a variety of fields, including transport (heavy and light goods), plant and agricultural machinery, marine and passenger cars.
The company was first based in Druid Street, London SE1 and then moved to Tooley Street, London SE1 in 1964. I first joined Tower Bridge Diesels Limited full time at the age of 16 in 1975 straight from school, although I spent my holidays and weekends with my father and uncle by that time.
In 1980 the company moved to Verney Road, London, SE16 and in 1992 I took over the day to day running of the company, at which time my Father semi-retired until he passed away in 1998.
The fuel injection business has seen many technological advances in recent decades and it was decided in 2004 to downsize and specialise exclusively in Bosch petrol mechanical fuel injection pumps.
I retained the same name ‘Tower Bridge Diesels’ since many of my long-established customers consider this name synonymous with the excellent and efficient service I strive to offer.
